Notes:
The front page of LionNet Norway is just one of the tens of examples of a keep-it-simple, yet beautiful page. It has a few tricks, like the animated graphic that changes from the Norwegian flag to the word “Norway” and it also features a side menu bar that makes the HTML code of the page a bit more complicated than just plain “bare bones” text all across the screen. But the page is fast to load, it’s very clear, it uses the same small graphic element (lions logo) nicely several times, which is a good isea since a machine reading the page will only load the small graphic once and can display several copies quickly. Colours are clear and easy to read and the page looks very professional and contains a lot of information. This kind of a page would work well even with the slow connectivity to places like the Middle East and Asia.
But the page has been designed for just local users in mind. The main language is just Norwegian, which is not a good idea at all. A front page should always have a clear choise of languages that leads to separate pages designed for different audiences. You are not telling the same things to readers in your own country that you are telling the foreign visitors and you are not supposed to think others will understand Finnish or Norwegian even if they are official Lions languages. Especially clubs in the English speaking world tend often to forget there are others aloso !
