Notes:
Things not to do on the net
On the Internet there are certain ways of behaving, the so called net etiquette or “netiquette” that governs what people are supposed to do and what they are not supposed to do. Especially one should keep in mind that all commercial use was explicitly FORBIDDEN on the net not a long time ago and also that many people PAY for receiving messages via e-mail and the web. Therefore if you are asking for money or advertising something you should be REAL CAREFUL not to irritate people.
DO NOT ask money for your help, be it for setting up homepages or whatever. On the net it is a habit to help everybody and be friendly.
DO NOT sell space for ads on Lions pages
DO NOT send e-mail messages where you are selling something or promoting something, especially do not send mass postings. This is called “spamming”. It’s considered VERY bad behaviour and there’s a war against spammers.
DO NOT use the open bulletin board type of discussion forums or the Usenet News service for promoting something that you sell. That is a VERY rude thing to do.
DO keep the links on your pages up to date. People get irritated when they find non working links
