Who is your audience ?
Notes:
Consider who is your audience
The Internet / LionNet can at the same time be a forum for discussions of small internal working groups, district cabinets etc. But it is also a medium for the general public. Whatever you put on the web can be viewed by any one of about 120 million people. Closed “intranets”, closed user groups, discussion forums and closed websites are easy to set up but it needs thinking what to put where.
Language is another question. We started by publishing mostly in Finnish and what we thought we were doing was to try to get more members from nearby. There were just a few pages in English, but when feedback started flowing in we got letters from all over the world: South America, South Africa, New Zealand, USA, Canada. But none from closer than Antwerpen.
Since the LionNet Finland site has been primarily English spaking with some local material in Finnish and later also in Swedish.
English is the language of the network. There’s no way around the fact.
