A Rose for Life

Multiple District 102 Switzerland - Liechtenstein will celebrate its founding 75 years ago at Lions Day at the United Nations (LDUN) and the Delegates Assembly in four weeks in Geneva.

This special National Convention is organized by the founding club of the multiple district, the Lions Club of Geneva. In addition, this club will celebrate its anniversary with a rose specially bred for the Lions, the proceeds of which going to the International Committee of the Red Cross for projects that provide clean water in underserved areas.

The "CICR®-ROSE" project, A ROSE FOR LIFE, is attracting a great deal of attention beyond the country's borders: at the Mediterranean Conference at the beginning of the year, the Geneva Lions Club's initiative was honored as a heartfelt project.

At the beginning of May, the rose bushes can be purchased in the District West, says the OC President for the National Convention in Geneva, Gérald Meylan, "However, further donations are also welcome at any time; and participants at the National Convention in mid-May can see for themselves on site the sustainability of the rose for life".
