Camps

2024, the multi-district Switzerland-Liechtenstein is organising a summer camp for up to 30 young people. In 2025, 2 camps will be organised for a total of up to 50 young people. 

Summer-camp 2024

• Bern, July 20^th - August 3^rd 2024

Summer-camps 2025

• Rapperswil-Jona “Swiss Historical Experience", host-families: July 12^th.-26^th 2025, camp July 26^th - August 9^th 2025, up to 30 young people
• Romandie “Swiss Cultural Experience”, camp only, July 26^th - August 9^th 2025, up to 20 young people

Registration

• Applications for youth exchanges in Switzerland / Liechtenstein will be accepted from November 1^st of he year prior to the exchange.
• By March 15^th of the year of the exchange at the latest, the documents of the foreign applicants must be confirmed by the responsible youth exchange administrators in the home country and sent to this address.

Important Information

• All participants must arrive and leave from  Zürich-Kloten airport (ZRH)
• Transportation to the host families and to the camp is organised by Lions Switzerland / Liechtenstein
• Meals: Swiss Cuisine
• Alcohol, tobacco and drugs are strictly forbidden in the camps
• Communication will be in English (minimum level A2)

Host families

With a few exceptions, one member of the host family is a Lion. However, a Lions club can also recommend a non-Lion host family.

Host Families should provide

• Accomodation and meals for the youg people
• a free bed in one of their children's rooms and/or a guest room
• Families will provide for and assume responsibility for their young guests for the length of the stay
• Organization of small excursions and familiarization with the Swiss culture and specialities (no need for big spending!)
• Usually, the young people should stay in Switzerland (no travelling abroad)
• Food, lodging and activities are paid for by the host family or their Lions club
• Information sharing via email before the arrival of the young people
• Communication should be in English or in the young person’s language (e.g. Italian, French, or German)
• Families do not need to have own children of the same age. Hosting isn’t about age!
